Have you heard?

Only a few days into the school year, and already there are at least 32 schools with COVID cases.

Over 100 students at a single Edmonton High School have to self isolate for two weeks because of an outbreak.

Jason Kenney’s lack of a proper school plan is already causing disruption, fear and chaos.

Kenney didn’t want to pay for masks. But CUPE, parents, and others pushed back and we got funding for masks.

Kenney didn’t want to pay for extra custodial help.  CUPE, parents, and others pushed back and we got funding for extra custodial help.

The UCP didn’t want to pass on federal money to schools, but we fought back and made sure those federal dollars got to the classroom.

Jason Kenney and the UCP didn’t want to alert the public to outbreaks, but that changed today after even more public pressure

There is still much more to do. We need smaller class sizes so our students and staff can properly distance.

Please, take 60 seconds.

This kind of pressure works.

Kids are depending on us.

Rory Gill,
President CUPE Alberta
